hi, i’m JEN

your PRENATAL and POSTNATAL movement specialist

I believe all moms deserve to feel HAPPY and CONFIDENT throughout preconception, pregnancy, postpartum and beyond.

My path to becoming a movement teacher was winding. A lot of people are surprised to learn that I’m a CPA. It was my career in accounting that helped me find yoga. I was stressed and needed to take care of myself. Yoga was the one thing that helped my body and mind, and I was able to stick with. I wanted to deepen my studies, so I received my 200 hour yoga teaching certification in 2014 from Yoga Vida in NYC. I never expected to become a yoga instructor. At the end of my training, we were surprised to find out I was pregnant!

Pregnancy did not suit me, I was nauseous, tired and depressed. Prenatal yoga classes were the only time I felt like myself. I enjoyed every hour of those classes, learning abut my body, preparing for childbirth and slowly connecting with daughter. Thanks to these classes, an amazing doula, and of course my supportive husband, I had an empowering and positive birth. While labor went smoothly, I was not prepared for postpartum. Those first few months were some of my darkest days. I was lonely and full of anxiety. I decided to take a step away from my career to focus on myself and my family and I’m grateful that I had the means to do this. I realized I wanted to teach prenatal yoga and help women advocate for themselves, take control of their births, and feel supported during the postpartum period. Early in my second pregnancy, I completed my 85 hour prenatal yoga training at the Prenatal Yoga Center in NYC.

I’ve been teaching prenatal yoga for 5 years now. After the birth of my second daughter, I was in a much better place mentally, but physically hurting with chronic hip pain. I learned all I could about the physiological changes during pregnancy and postpartum, which directed me to find the support of a pelvic floor physical therapist. I discovered I felt the most relief when I began incorporating strength training into my movement practice.

This is the STRONGEST I’ve felt and most CONFIDENT I’ve been, which is what I want to emulate for my girls.

I WANT TO HELP YOU because I know how challenging it is to take care of your children when you aren’t feeling your best.
