postnatal YOGA

Learn essential poses for the postpartum period, strengthen over-stretched muscles, regain tone in the pelvic floor and core, and focus on upper-body stretches to relieve tightness in your shoulders from nursing, feeding and carrying your newborn/child.

 

postnatal STRENGTH

Primary focus will be on restoring your core and pelvic floor and learning ways to move smarter throughout the day. As you progress, we will use resistance (bands, dumbbells, kettlebells) to safely build strength. Your customized program will include circuits and interval training or pelvic stability work. If you had a Cesarean birth, we fill focus on specific exercises to help you recover.

BABY & ME yoga

Grab your friends with babies and schedule a 45 minute semi-private session. We will address common new mom issues with yoga poses and practice infant massage and age-appropriate developmental movements for your baby. Inquire for pricing.

I’ll take a look at your movement habits, posture, and core function to create a customized plan for your needs.

 

4. REBUILD

We’ll slowly build strength to meet the demands of motherhood and progressively strengthen the core.

 

2. EDUCATION

I’ll teach you the best way to breathe to help you integrate your core and pelvic floor into exercise and daily life.

 

5. PROGRESS

This depends on your goals! Want to get back to running or HIIT exercises, we’ll prepare your body and mind to get back to what you love.

 

3. RESTORE

You will reconnect with your core and pelvic floor using safe exercises and master proper alignment to help you recover faster.

PRICING + INFO

  • Single Session: $125 - expires one month from purchase

    6 Sessions: $720 - expires 2 months from purchase

    12 Sessions: $1410 - expires 4 months from purchase

  • Sessions are held in person at The Nesting Place located in Merrick, at your home (I currently service specific areas in Nassau County, Long Island, please contact to see if I will come to your house) and virtually via Zoom.

  • For Yoga: A mat, yoga blocks, a blanket or towel. A yoga bolster is helpful but a couch cushion can be used instead.

    For Strength: If you do not have anything, I recommend resistance bands (or something similar) and a door anchor. Dumbbells and kettlebells are good to have. Other than that, we can use traditional household objects if you do not have weights.

    Equipment is provided for you if you schedule your sessions at The Nesting Place in Merrick.

  • We can begin working together as soon as you have clearance from your care provider to exercise. This comes at the postpartum check-up, which typically happens 4-6 weeks after a vaginal birth, and about 8 weeks after a C-section. After getting clearance, the sooner we can begin, the better, because we will ensure you approach your recovery in the safest and most effective manner.

    That said, it’s never too late to start! You can still begin several months or years postpartum if you are still dealing with issues like diastasis recti and pelvic floor dysfunction.

  • You have the unique opportunity to mix and match your sessions based on what you need. I ask that provide me notice on whether you want yoga or strength on a specific day as there is planning and preparation that goes into each session.

  • Ideally, this time should be for you! However, I do understand that childcare may be difficult to come by. Non-crawling babies are welcome to join, however class will be 60 minutes even if you need to stop and feed or change baby.
